Sammy Carter (he/him) is a Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator for Blue Zones Project Riverside. Sammy brings a lifetime in Riverside and years of civic engagement and storytelling to the world of community activation. From student leadership in high school, to leading the International Justice Mission campus chapter at California Baptist University all the way to the nation’s capitol, and now as a Community Engagement Coordinator with Blue Zones Project Riverside, Sammy takes pride in the power of collective action. Professionally, he pulls from expertise in the Storybrand and Datastory methodologies: styles of marketing and data analysis derived from traditional narrative techniques. He seeks to empower the people of the city to shape their community into a healthier, better place through the stories they tell.

Outside of work, he enjoys nature and writing; his dream is to complete the Pacific Coast Trail whilst reading through/listening to all of John Muir’s writing. His favorite writers are John Steinbeck, Soren Kierkegaard, and Ralph Waldo Emerson, his favorite rapper is Kendrick Lamar, and the team he has shed the most tears over is the Los Angeles Chargers.
