Marie Schermeister is the Community Engagement Coordinator for Blue Zones Project Riverside, where she helps bring the Blue Zones mission to life through events, partnerships, and community-centered programming. In her role, Marie plans and organizes opportunities for Riversiders to connect with healthy behaviors in practical, welcoming, and sustainable ways. She will be facilitating community gatherings, cooking demonstrations, Moais, organization-specific events, and volunteer-supported outreach.  She is very focused on creating meaningful experiences that help people feel connected to their community and empowered in their well-being.

Before joining Blue Zones Project Riverside, Marie supported Blue Zones Project Tuolumne County as an Office & Events Coordinator, where she helped lead and support community engagement events, managed partnership outreach, coordinated contractors and volunteers, and worked with local organizations to become Blue Zones Approved. 

Marie earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and has completed the Google Project Management Certificate. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking Thai cuisine, learning about ancient history and international affairs, and finding new ways to connect culture, food, and well-being.
